This video podcast features an unusual way of discovering Varese. On the shores of Lake Varese you will find the home of the Varese Gliding Club, Aero Adele Orsi. It is the largest gliding club in the Italy, located in Calcinate Del Pesce, it is popular among gliding enthusiasts from all over the world. This for me is the best way to see Varese with the lakes and Italian Alps in the background. The cost is 60 euros for 2000 m or 80 euros for 3000 m. I went up to 3000 m, soaring high over the Sacro Monte and Campo dei Fiori, the views were fantastic and this area is considered one of the best areas in Europe for gliding.
