This Video podcast is of the Historic Abbey of San Michele in Voltorre which was built in the 12th century, records date back to 1154 when it was first recorded  in a document by Pope Anastasius IV in which its dependence on the Abbey of Fruttuaria was confirmed. It was built on the site of an early medieval settlement, probably a Lombard tower, on three sides the cloister is made up of 46 columns with sculpted capitals,  the fourth side has arches in brick.
