Italian Biscotti

Italian Biscotti.

7 c Flour
1/2 c Sugar
1/2 c Vegetable shortening
4 c Milk extract
2 tb Baking powder
2 ts Anise seed
6 Eggs
1 Egg white
Sesame seeds

Using your hands, mix the flour, sugar, vegetable shortening, baking powder and anise seed.

Next, mix eggs, vanilla, and milk and add to dry ingredients, work with hands until smooth.

Cut dough into 1 1/2 to 2″ pieces.

Dip the top of each in a mixture of egg white and ½ teaspoon water. Then cover the dough in sesame seeds.

Bake on cooking tray at 375 degrees for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Complement the biscotti with a nice Italian dessert wine.
