Palazzo Estence, Varese . Italian Lakes

One of main attractions of Varese is the pink Palazzo Estence with its famous public gardens, modeled from the Schonbrunn gardens in Vienna; The Palazzao Estence was built in the 18th century for the Este Duke of Modena as a summer residence. The duke of Modena, Francesco III Este was the Lord of Varese and Governor of Lombardy during the second half of the 18th century. The palace’s rooms are covered with stunning frescoes of the period.
